TFR is a youth-led environmental nonprofit built on a simple idea: if the future is ours to inherit, it's ours to protect. We raise awareness, inspire action, and build the communities that make change possible.
The Future Redemption was founded by Ashton and Carmen Ferguson — two siblings who decided that the environmental crisis isn't something to leave for someone else to fix. Through education, advocacy, community service, and collaboration, we work to empower individuals and communities to create a sustainable, resilient world for generations to come.
TFR focuses on the issues that are most urgent and most interconnected: endangered species loss, ocean and plastic pollution, deforestation, climate change, water pollution, microplastic contamination, and resource mismanagement. These aren't abstract problems — they affect the air we breathe, the water we drink, and the food we eat. And they are all connected.
Meet Our Team →Deforestation drives species loss, which disrupts ecosystems, which threatens food supplies, which deepens poverty. You can't solve one without understanding the others.
Wildlife populations have collapsed 73% since 1970. Over 47,000 species face extinction. Every loss unravels the web of life that sustains us all.
Read more →11 million metric tons of plastic enter the oceans every year. By 2040, that number is projected to triple. The plastic doesn't disappear — it enters everything.
Read more →A single load of laundry releases over 700,000 microfibers. Studies have found microplastics in human blood, lung tissue, and placental fluid.
Read more →13 million hectares of forest are lost every year. Forests are home to 80% of the world's terrestrial species and one of our greatest defenses against climate change.
Read more →Climate change is not a future problem. It is already reshaping how food is grown, transported, and priced — and those who can least afford it are hit hardest.
Read more →80% of the world's wastewater is released without treatment. Contaminated water kills hundreds of thousands each year — disproportionately children.
Read more →The planet produces enough for everyone. The problem is not scarcity — it is distribution, waste, and mismanagement. You can't protect the planet without protecting its people.
Read more →Marine vertebrate populations fell 49% between 1970 and 2020. The ocean covers 70% of our planet, produces half our oxygen, and it is in serious trouble.
Read more →Deforestation drives species loss. Species loss disrupts ecosystems. Disrupted ecosystems threaten food supplies. Threatened food supplies deepen poverty. Poverty undermines the capacity to act.
TFR works across all of these fronts because we understand that you cannot solve one without understanding the others. Change starts with awareness — and awareness starts here.
"We believe that change starts with awareness. Every person who learns and acts creates a ripple. And enough ripples make a wave." — The TFR Team
" Great things are done by a series of small things brought together. — Van Gogh
That is how TFR works — one conversation, one project, one community at a time. With persistence within our communities and within our institutions, we can reduce our negative impact on the environment and reforge the bond with this world around us.
Be Part of the Wave →TFR was built by teenagers who decided not to wait. Every movement begins with individuals who decide that something matters enough to act. Help us build a future worth inheriting.
